Tesla reveals its angular and ferocious looking Cybertruck

Last night, Tesla revealed the futuristic-looking Cybertruck. This distinct vehicle is designed with sharp angles, resembling something that previously was only seen in sci-fi video games. Additionally, it packs a punch with unmatched power for an electric vehicle of this type.

A complete powerhouse

Even though the electic vehicle is called a truck, it doesn’t resemble anything that looks like a standard auto of its sort. In fact, it could pass as its own brand-new vehicle concept. The sharp angles and the size of the car will no doubt cause some heads to turn when pulling up against other trucks. However, don’t be fooled by the sharp design. This vehicle definitely holds its ground when it comes to durability and range.

The upcoming release is built with what Tesla claims is a nearly impenetrable exoskeleton. This includes a 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel structural skin and armored glass. The Independent reports that CEO Elon Musk describes the Cybertruck as an “armoured personnel carrier from the future”. With its balance of design, comfort, and strength, this could change the definition of a pickup truck.

“Trucks have been the same for like 100 years,” Musk said at the unveiling, as reported by The Independent.

“We need something different and we need sustainable energy now. To solve sustainable energy we have to have a pickup truck.”

Tesla continues to innovate

This six seater’s protective panels are made from the same alloys found on spacecraft. Musk explains that this is a feat that could only be achieved without the need for a fuel engine. In summary, he said that his company had progressed to “a new class of strength, speed and versatility – only possible with an all-electric design”.

The innovator is extremely confident in his firm’s production. Therefore he asked others to hit the car with sledgehammers. Furthermore, he shared a video of the truck being able to width and bullets shot from a pistol. Despite these strengths, the demonstration eventually showed that Cybertruck still needs further development before release. This is because a ball bearing was able to crack a window during the presentation.

Nonetheless, Tesla is continuing to show its originality and adaptability in a changing market. TechCrunch comments on how Tesla’s desire to be separate from traditional pickups makes it comparable to the first-generation Honda Ridgeline. This is because they are both built differently, holding a unibody design that enables them to employ great strength.

Precision, power, pace

ExtremeTech further reports that there are three variants planned for the Cybertruck. The base will be able to hit 250 miles of range, with a tow rating of 7,500 pounds. Along with this, it will be able to hit 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. This version will start at $39,900.

The dual-motor will have a range of 300 miles and be able to tow 10,000 pounds. This one will hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds but at a price of $49,000. The premium edition will be able to go 500 miles between each charge and tow up to 14,00 pounds. Amazingly, it will go from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. This will set consumers back by at least $69,900.

No release date has been confirmed for the Cybertruck but it is expected to be launched in late 2021 or early 2022. With competition approaching from other car companies such as Ford and its new electric SUV, Tesla is continuing to diversify its fleet. This will help it stay ahead in the game and keep on pioneering in electric vehicle technology.
