Ahead of the highly-anticipated CES 2020, Samsung has made yet another announcement of a new product line that it will showcase. This time, Samsung has shared details on its upcoming curved gaming monitors, the Odyssey G9 and G7.
A pioneering introduction
According to a press release, the tech giant has introduced this premium range to reimagine gaming with the players’ needs in mind.
Moreover, this line boasts an industry first as it has received a certificate by TÜV Rheinland for its high performance 1000R curved display and eye comfort. Ultimately, a completely immersive gaming journey is set to be enabled.
This unique feature is backed by high-quality QLED displays, 240Hz refresh rates, and 1ms (GTG) response times. In addition, both units are Nvidia’s G-Sync compatible. Therefore, a smooth and precise output will be ensured for a full-bodied experience.
The difference between the two
The Odyssey G9 is the bigger of the pair as this arrives with a sizeable 49-inch VA curved display, supported by Infinity Core Lighting. Furthermore, its HDR 1000 format is backed by a strong resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 (DQHD).
Meanwhile, the Odyssey G7 comes in two smaller variants. Here, gamers can choose between 27-inch and 32-inch displays. Additionally, the VA curved panels are supported by HDR 600 formatting, a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 (QHD) and a Core Lighting design.
Altogether, Samsung is seeking to reproduce the visual images that game creators intended by realizing rapid and seamless gameplay.
Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics spoke of the new screens. He shared that they highlight his company’s determination to keep providing top quality products for its customers.
“The new Odyssey portfolio proves that Samsung is continuing to drive innovation with industry-leading technology and design that allow gamers significantly better performances,” he said, as per the release.
“Samsung’s new curved gaming monitor line-up has been completely redesigned to give gamers an entirely new and immersive experience.”
